The Bates Letter:
Hey,
Here’s 5 ideas I thought were worth sharing.
Good Thread on Parenting
On the parenting front, I’m looking for good parenting book recommendations. Hit me with your best!
Also on kids and books, my three-year-old has been loving these three from Adam Rubin and Daniel Salmieri:
Meal I Made
I’ve hit a point where I enjoy my own cooking more than going out to eat 98% of the time. Chicken thighs were cooked in the oven at 375 for about 35 minutes. The steak was seared on a cast iron for about 5 minutes on each side.
Podcast Recommendation: The Dark, Untold Story of Ozempic
I highly recommend giving this a listen, especially if you’re curious about Ozempic or other weight-loss medications. There’s a ton of hype around a quick fix, but no one is talking about the long-term impacts of these drugs.
You are What You Do
"The word identity was originally derived from the latin word essentitas, which means being, and identidem, which means repeatedly. Your identity is literally your repeated beingness." - James Clear
Summer Reading Recommendation
I don’t read a ton of fiction, but The Terminal List was awesome. I read it in a few days and recommend if you’ve got a long flight or some time at the beach coming up.
Thanks for reading to the end. If it’s your first time here, sign up below.
See you next week,
